Below are general photos that don't fit into
any of the other categories of either WERC or PLAY. We left Athens
relatively early on the morning of April 3, 2004 and arrived in Phoenix about 2
p.m. local time. The weather was unusual for us in that it was rainy and
cool, and it stayed that way all the way to Las Cruces.
For this first time in our trips to New Mexico,
the weather was more rainy than not. But
we had sunny days when we needed them.

| Obligatory airplane shot! |
We went with Chevy Suburbans
this year, rather than full-size vans, minivans, or sedans. The
Suburbans worked out better than anything we've done before with regard
to transportation. Dan drove the white one, Ben the black one, and Darin the blue one. |

| We saw several of these
betwen Phoenix and Las Cruces. With the open, flat, treeless
country, it's often easy to see a complete one. |
Always a smile, especially
after the 8th consecutive hour in the car comes and goes. |

| This wasn't an uncommon
sight, either! |

| Our Las Cruces home. |
Brian Clarke reunited with
his long-lost, identical twin brother. The brother is more
handsome. |

| For some reason, Jennifer
Dillis seemed to think it necessary to preserve this image.
Consider it preserved! |
No idea who held the camera
for this one. |

| Ben managed to snag the
spoiler below the bumper on his Suburban on one of those parking lot
barriers. |
Nothing like a little
bailing wire and glue to solve this problem! |

| In the previous four years
we had been to Las Cruces, we had never stopped at a
Whataburger (not to
be confused with their competitor, Lotaburger). Well, this
oversight was remedied in 2004. All I could think of as I ate my
Whataburger was...you guessed it...what a burgrer! |
Having fun in some colorful
place. |
