2001 On the Way
Home Up

This year, because of a significant savings in airfare, we flew into Albuquerque, rented two 15-passenger vans, and drove to Las Cruces.

Several of us waiting in line at the Columbus airport, for those of you who don't know what that might be like.

From left, Jeff Leake, Jason Wise, Scott Connor, Ryan Marthy, Abigail Zechman, and Kurt Lape.

A nice snapshot out the window on our approach to Albuquerque.
Yes, it's a wing of our jet.  We were looking for the little gremlin that William Shatner saw in that episode of The Twilight Zone, but it never appeared.

When we landed, we checked the wings on both sides, and no damage was found.  We were then escorted to security to explain why we were walking around and climbing on the airplane.

Which way to our baggage claim area?  More importantly, will they actually have our luggage.  What about those big blocks?
Traveling down I-25 to Las Cruces in the middle of the night.
A late dinner at the Socorro Brewing Company brew pub in Socorro.  This was the first of a number of brew pubs visited on this trip.

The road warriors.  By week's end, we had put about 1,000 miles on each.

The white one.
The green one.  It was dark green, so it's kind of hard to tell that it's green in this photo.  (The two represented OU's colors, and we didn't even ask for that!)
